Los empresarios paraguayos siempre han sido muy comedidos y extremadamente prudentes, fruto de treinta y cuatro años de autocensura.
Sus pronunciamientos siempre han estado llenos de circunloquios, tratando de evitar que se los involucrara en “politica”, actividad que les estaba prohibida y podia desencadenar la venganza de los dueños
del pais.
Una segunda piel, en ellos, era el miedo. Un miedo justificado porque la venganza podria significar la perdida de la libertad, los bienes, y hasta la vida.
El miedo a enfrentar a la “autoridad” continua latente y forma parte de la cultura del “no hay que meterse en politica” que ha mutilado a un sector por demas importante en un estado, el sector que trabaja, produce y progresa y hace progresar.
Durante la larga transicion de la dictadura a la democracia el sector empresarial ha sido el mas remiso y cobarde de la sociedad, lo que impidio un avance mas decidido hacia el progreso y la democracia.
El 15 de diciembre, el mas dinámico sector de la creación de riquezas aparentemente perdia el miedo y salio a las calles con sus elementos de trabajo a manifestar su descontento. Una manifestacion algo timida, pero, por su extension, temible. Ya no hay sectores silenciosos, acobardados ni timoratos. Ya no hay sectores arrodillados y dispuestos a transigir.
Se trata de una situacion nueva, que incorpora una luz de esperanza, encendida frente al sombrio horizonte planteado por un gobierno de irresponsables y retrogrados, que quieren volver al autoritarismo, esta vez el rojo del comunismo.
Al presidente generador del caos, la violencia, la ilegalidad y la violacion de la Constitucion se levanta un pais que, sin la debida franqueza todavia, dice no.
No al caos, no a la violencia, no a las invasiones, no a la delincuencia. No al abuso del poder y no al gobierno desquiciante. Un pais que pronto, si el gobierno sigue atentando contra la democracia representativa y la libertad, presionará para el juicio político.
