La actual crisis financiera es una crisis moral y de confianza.

“La crisis que el mundo actual esta¡ viviendo no es solo financiera, y por tanto la solucion no puede ser solamente de caracter financiero”. Asi lo afirma ayer monseñor Giampaolo Crepaldi, secretario del Consejo Pontificio “Justicia y Paz”, en declaraciones a Radio Vaticano.
Esta crisis financiera, afirmo, “pone en evidencia lo que la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia afirma desde hace mucho tiempo: cuando un sistema economico-financiero entra en crisis, nunca es por motivos economicos o financieros, sino porque en su origen ha habido una herida en el sistema moral global”.
En este sentido, el prelado indico que en el origen hay una “crisis de confianza”, “todos hablan de ella, de volver a establecer la confianza reciproca para resolver esta crisis”, admitio, pero la confianza “no es un elemento economico o financiero, sino una actitud etica”.
“Cuando el mercado erosiona esta actitud etica, todos sabemos que ya no esta en grado de reconstruirla por si sola”.
El secretario de “Justicia y Paz” explico³ que en estos momentos es necesario un “equilibrio” entre la desregulacion de los mercados, y la tentacion de dar demasiado peso al Estado.
“Son tres los actores que deben jugar esta partida: el mercado por una parte, el Estado por otra y por otro lado la sociedad civil.
Y esto precisamente para responder a aquellas exigencias e inspiraciones que provienen del llamado principio de subsidiariedad”, añadio.
En conformidad con la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia, explica monseñor Crepaldi, “es necesario mirar con mayor sabiduria al mercado y al papel que este puede tener”.
“No se habria llegado al punto en que estamos si hubieramos tratado al mercado como un medio y no como un fin”, añadio”.
Finalmente, el prelado hizo un llamamiento a los paises que se reuniran mañana para la cumbre del G-21, para que trabajen en consonancia con las resoluciones de la conferencia internacional de Doha, en cuanto a la financiacion al desarrollo.
“El temor es que la actual crisis financiera mine el trabajo y los compromisos tomados por los Estados y la comunidad internacional para financiar el desarrollo”, advirtio.
En cambio, espera que los participantes en la cumbre “confirmen y asuman con mayor sentido de la responsabilidad” la ayuda a los paises pobres.
